What’s the Difference Between Instant Messages and Broadcast Messages?

One is personal and interactive — the other is built for speed and scale.

Why Use This Feature?

Both instant and broadcast messages let you connect with clients, but they work in different ways. Understanding the difference helps you communicate clearly, save time, and improve client engagement.


Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Go to Messages > Direct in your LegitFit dashboard.

  2. Choose between:

    • Instant Message – a private, one-on-one in-app message that clients can reply to.

    • Broadcast Message – a one-way message sent to multiple clients via email or SMS (clients cannot reply).

  3. Use Instant Messages for:

    • Personal reminders

    • Individual support

    • Following up on no-shows

  4. Use Broadcasts for:

    • Announcements or offers

    • Class cancellations

    • Re-engaging lapsed clients

  5. Keep in mind:

    • Broadcasts are available only on Premium and Ultimate plans.

    • You can send one broadcast per day.

    • Instant messages are unlimited and included in all plans.


What Happens Next

  • Instant messages appear in the client’s LegitFit inbox (both in browser and app).

  • Broadcast messages go directly to clients via SMS or email, but they cannot reply.
