What is Access Control Timing and how do I use it?
Manage how long your doors or turnstiles stay open after a client scans their code.
Why Use This Feature?
If your business uses door scanners or turnstiles, Access Control Timing gives you control over how long access remains open after a client scans in. It helps you balance smooth entry with security — giving clients time to enter without leaving doors open longer than needed.
Step-by-Step Instructions
-
Log in to LegitFit on your desktop browser.
-
Click Settings in the bottom-left menu.
-
Under the Account tab, scroll down to Access Control Timing.
-
Choose the number of seconds (e.g. 2–5 seconds) you’d like doors to stay open after a successful scan.
-
Click Save Changes to apply the update.
What Happens Next
Once updated, your access control hardware will follow this new timing. After a successful scan (QR code or card), the connected barrier or turnstile will remain open for the duration you’ve set — giving members time to walk through before it resets.
Success Tip
If your scanner is placed farther away from the entry point (e.g. at reception rather than the door), consider setting the timer to 10–20 seconds to give clients enough time. If it’s directly beside the entrance, 2–10 seconds might be sufficient.
