How do refund settings work and what’s the difference between credit and monetary refunds?

Decide if clients get their money back — or just a class credit — when they cancel.

Why Use This Feature?

LegitFit gives you control over your refund policy. From full refunds, to credits-only, to no refunds at all. Whether you want to automate refunds for cancellations or limit them to credits, you can fine-tune your settings to match your studio’s financial policies.


Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Log in to LegitFit via desktop.
  2. Go to Settings > System Settings
  3. Scroll to the General Settings section.
  4. You’ll see two options:
    • Auto Refund Bookings via Card – issues a refund via card when a client cancels.
    • Auto Refund Credits – returns a class/session credit to the client.
  5. Toggle on or off based on your policy.
  6. Choose the duration for each Refund setting that clients can cancel ahead of the session to be eligible for a refund.
  7. Click Save Changes to confirm your settings.

What Happens Next

  • If Auto Refund Bookings via card is on: clients who cancel within your cancellation window will receive their money back.
  • If Auto Refund Credits is on: they’ll get the session added back to their membership/package.
  • If both are off: no automatic refund happens — cancellations simply remove the booking.

Want to avoid sending money back? Turn Auto Refund Bookings via card off and keep Auto Refund Credits on. That way, clients still feel looked after, and your revenue stays secure.
