How do I create, edit, or disable a membership?
Set up recurring memberships, control visibility, and update your offerings.
Why Use This Feature?
Memberships are the core of recurring revenue. Setting them up correctly ensures smooth client onboarding and consistent cash flow. Editing or disabling them helps you manage updates or seasonal changes without disrupting existing members.
Step-by-Step Instructions
To create a new membership:
-
Go to your LegitFit dashboard on desktop.
-
Click Products > Memberships.
-
Click + Create Membership in the top-right corner.
-
Fill in the required details:
-
Membership name, billing frequency (weekly, monthly, yearly), and price.
-
Set visibility: public to all clients, visible to selected clients, or private to the business.
-
Number of sessions per billing cycle.
-
Optional: Sync usage interval to billing interval (e.g. 3 credits per week, billed monthly).
-
Optional: Add joining fee, open access, or priority booking.
-
-
Click Create.
To edit an existing membership:
-
You can edit:
-
Name and description
-
Visibility settings
-
Priority booking or open access toggles
-
Display order (where it appears)
-
-
You cannot edit the price, billing frequency, or number of sessions once created.
-
To change those, create a new membership and switch clients using the Switch Membership feature.
To disable a membership:
-
Go to Products > Memberships.
-
Select the membership.
-
Click the Disable icon.
-
This removes it from your public offerings and stops new sign-ups.
-
Existing members will continue unless you manually cancel or switch them.
-
To re-enable a membership:
-
Go to the Disabled Memberships section (icon in the top-left corner of the Memberships screen).
-
Select the membership you want to re-enable.
-
Click the Enable icon.
What Happens Next
Once saved, memberships are live and visible based on your chosen settings. Clients can purchase them through a direct link or via their dashboard if public.
Success Tip
If you plan to adjust prices or sessions regularly, name your memberships clearly with the billing year or version (e.g. Gold Monthly 2024). This keeps things tidy when archiving or replacing old versions.
