Should I use a broadcast message or a community announcement?
One goes to phones and inboxes — the other lives in the app. Here’s how to choose.
Why Use This Feature?
Broadcasts and community announcements both help you reach lots of clients — but they work differently. Choosing the right one ensures your message gets seen, lands with the right tone, and fits the urgency of your update.
Step-by-Step Instructions
-
Choose a Broadcast Message (email or SMS) if:
-
You need to reach clients outside the app (email inbox or mobile phone).
-
You want to send a time-sensitive message, like a cancellation or promotion.
-
You’re targeting a specific group (e.g. inactive clients, new members).
-
You don’t need replies.
-
-
Choose a Community Announcement if:
-
You want to post a general update to all clients in-app.
-
You want to create conversation — you can enable comments.
-
You’re sharing a shoutout, event, or motivational post.
-
You want something more casual and community-focused.
-
-
Combine both for layered communication — send a Broadcast for urgency, then reinforce it with a Community Announcement for visibility.
What Happens Next
Broadcasts are delivered via SMS or email — clients will see them even if they don’t open the LegitFit app. Community Announcements appear in the app’s Messaging tab > Community, with an optional push notification.
Success Tip
Use Broadcasts for reach, and Community for connection. Together, they help you get seen and build relationships.
