How do I offer a several-month discount with a bulk upfront payment?
Set up discounted multi-month deals using a package and membership combo.
Why Use This Feature?
Offering multi-month discounts is a great way to reward client commitment, boost short-term cash flow, and maintain structured billing. By combining a one-time package for the upfront payment and a recurring membership for ongoing billing, you can balance flexibility, automation, and steady revenue in LegitFit.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Option 1 — Bulk Upfront Payment
-
Go to Products > Packages and click Create Package.
-
Set the price to equal the total upfront amount for the discounted months (e.g. €300 for three months).
-
Set the duration of the package to match the discounted period (e.g. three months).
-
Once a client purchases this package, go to the membership the package is linked to.
-
Under Memberships, assign the recurring membership they’ll continue with after the discount period.
-
When assigning, choose Card as the payment method, select the client’s card, then toggle on Enable Specific Start Date and choose the date for when normal billing should begin.
-
Example: If the discounted period ends on 31 March, set the membership’s start date to 1 April.
-
The client will have access to the membership one billing cycle before they’re charged (from 1 March in this example, if the billing period is 1 month).
-
-
Edit the end date of the package to coincide with the day the client will gain access to the membership (e.g. 1 March).
Option 2 — No Upfront Payment (Automatic Discount)
-
Instead of a package, create a coupon under Products > Coupons.
-
Set the duration to multiple months (e.g. 3 months at 20% off).
-
Share the coupon code with clients to apply during membership purchase.
What Happens Next
-
The client’s upfront package covers the discounted period.
-
Their recurring membership will activate automatically on the start date you set, continuing normal billing afterward.
Success Tip
Use the upfront package method to secure commitment and boost cash flow. For lighter discounts or promotions, use coupons for easy automation and less manual setup.
