How do I freeze or unfreeze memberships — for one client or everyone?

Pause billing and session access without losing the client’s place.

Why Use This Feature?

Freezing a membership is useful when clients are injured, travelling, or taking a break. Bulk freezing is helpful when closures affect your entire business. LegitFit gives you full control over pausing and resuming access.

Step-by-Step Instructions

To freeze a membership for one client:

  1. Go to the client’s Profile > Services

or alternatively go to Products > Memberships.

  2. Find the active membership and select it.

  3. Click the Freeze icon.

  4. Choose:

    • Freeze from (this can be today or a future date), and

    • Freeze until (the reactivation date).

  5. Click Confirm.

Note: While frozen, billing and session access are paused.

To unfreeze a client’s membership:

  1. Go to the client’s Profile > Services.

  2. Click Re-activate on the frozen membership.

  3. Click Confirm to unfreeze immediately.

To freeze all clients on a specific membership:

  1. Go to Products > Memberships.

  2. Select the membership and click the Freeze icon.

  3. Choose a Reactivation Date.

  4. Click Confirm.

To unfreeze all clients at once:

  1. Return to the chosen Membership.

  2. Click Re-activate.

  3. Click Confirm to unfreeze immediately.

What Happens Next

The client’s billing is paused until the membership is unfrozen. During the freeze period, they won’t be charged and can’t book services linked to the membership.

NOTE: Any classes already booked during the freeze period are not automatically cancelled. If you do not want a client to attend booked classes while frozen, those bookings must be managed separately.

Success Tip

Set a clear reactivation date so you don’t forget to unfreeze memberships. For business-wide freezes, communicate clearly with clients so they know when billing will resume.
