How do I freeze a membership for a client?
Pause memberships temporarily without having to cancel.
Why Use This Feature?
Freezing a membership lets clients take a break from billing without cancelling their account. It’s a flexible option that helps you retain clients during holidays, injuries, or busy periods.
Step-by-Step Instructions
-
Open LegitFit in a web browser.
-
Go to Clients and open the client’s profile.
-
Select Services.
or alternatively go to Products > Memberships -
Click on the active membership you want to freeze.
-
Under Status, click Freeze Membership.
-
Choose the freeze dates:
-
Select Freeze from and Freeze until.
-
You can set the freeze to:
-
Start immediately, or
-
Start on a future date.
-
-
-
Confirm the freeze.
-
The next billing date will be pushed out by the length of the freeze.
What Happens Next
The membership will be inactive during the freeze period and cannot be used by the client. Once unfrozen, billing resumes according to the adjusted schedule, aligned with the membership’s billing cycle.
NOTE: Any classes already booked during the freeze period are not automatically cancelled. If you do not want a client to attend booked classes while frozen, those bookings must be managed separately.
Success Tip
Freezing is often used during holidays or seasonal breaks. To avoid overuse, set clear rules on how many freezes a client is allowed within a given timeframe.
You can also bulk freeze all clients on a membership by opening the product and selecting Freeze All Memberships.
