How do I cancel, delete, or switch a client’s membership?

Manage changes to your clients’ memberships smoothly — without losing important info.

Membership changes are common. Cancellations, upgrades, and plan switches help your business stay flexible and meet evolving client needs. LegitFit makes it easy to take action quickly while keeping your records accurate.


Step-by-Step Instructions

To cancel a client’s membership:

  1. Go to the client’s Profile from the Clients tab.

  2. Click into the Services section.

  3. Find and select the active membership.

  4. Select the Cancel button.

  5. Choose one of the following options:

    • Cancel Now – stops the membership immediately.

    • Cancel at End of Billing Cycle – ends it after the current paid period.

    • Cancel on a Custom Date – choose a future cancellation date.

  6. Click Confirm.

To delete a membership completely:

  1. Go to Products > Memberships.

  2. Find the membership you want to delete.

  3. You’ll only see the Delete (bin) option if no clients are currently subscribed.

  4. Click the bin icon, then Confirm.

To switch a client from one membership to another:

  1. Go to the client’s Profile > Services.

  2. Click the Switch Membership icon (two arrows).

  3. Select the new membership.

  4. Click Switch Memberships.

Note: The switch takes effect at the client’s next billing date.


What Happens Next

Cancellations and switches will update the client’s billing and booking eligibility automatically. Deleted memberships will no longer appear anywhere in the system.


Success Tip

If you’re switching clients due to a pricing change, create a new membership first with a clear name (e.g. Monthly Plus – 2024). Then manually switch clients over in batches.
